Thank you for supporting local and choosing Backyard Meats. Please review our Shipping Policy carefully before placing your order.

1. Order Processing

Orders are typically processed within 2 business days (excluding Sundays, Mondays, and statutory holidays) following payment confirmation.

While we make every effort to meet requested delivery dates and times, all delivery schedules are estimates and are not guaranteed.

Customers are responsible for ensuring all delivery information provided at checkout is accurate and complete. Backyard Meats is not responsible for delays, failed deliveries, or additional charges resulting from incorrect or incomplete address information.

2. Delivery & Shipping Methods

Backyard Meats offers local delivery, in-store pickup, and shipping options where available.

For local deliveries, customers may select from available delivery windows, including:

  • 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

  • 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

While we strive to deliver within the selected window, factors such as weather, traffic, road conditions, volume, and other unforeseen circumstances may impact delivery timing.

Customers should allow for a reasonable buffer before and after their selected delivery window. If delays occur, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate updates and alternative arrangements when necessary.

3. Delivery of Perishable Products

All Backyard Meats products are perishable.

By placing an order for delivery, the customer authorizes Backyard Meats to leave the order at the delivery location if no one is available to receive it, unless alternate instructions have been provided.

Delivery is considered complete once the order has been delivered to the address provided by the customer. Backyard Meats may provide photographic proof of delivery.

Customers are responsible for promptly retrieving and properly refrigerating or freezing delivered products. Backyard Meats is not responsible for product quality, spoilage, theft, damage, weather exposure, animals, or other issues occurring after delivery has been completed.

4. Shipping Costs

Shipping and delivery fees are calculated based on delivery location and postal code.

Applicable shipping charges will be displayed during checkout prior to payment.

5. Order Tracking & Notifications

Customers may receive one or more of the following:

  • Order confirmation emails

  • Shipping confirmation emails

  • Delivery status text messages

  • Real-time delivery tracking links

  • Delivery confirmation notifications

Customers are responsible for providing accurate contact information to receive these updates.

6. Shipping Delays

Although we strive to deliver orders on time, delays may occur due to weather conditions, road closures, carrier disruptions, supply chain issues, equipment failures, or other circumstances beyond our control.

Backyard Meats shall not be liable for delays caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

7. Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Deliveries

Backyard Meats is not responsible for orders that are lost, stolen, damaged, or tampered with after delivery has been completed.

If an issue arises during transit, customers must notify us within 48 hours of the scheduled delivery date by contacting info@backyardmeats.ca.

We will investigate reported issues and work with customers to reach a reasonable resolution where appropriate.

8. Failed Deliveries & Incorrect Addresses

If a delivery cannot be completed due to:

  • Incorrect address information

  • Inaccessible delivery location

  • Customer unavailability when special receiving arrangements were required

  • Any other customer-related delivery issue

the customer may be responsible for additional delivery charges, reshipping fees, or product replacement costs.

Due to the perishable nature of our products, refunds may not be available for failed deliveries caused by customer error.

9. In-Store Pickup

Customers selecting in-store pickup will be notified when their order is ready.

Orders should be collected promptly upon notification. Backyard Meats is not responsible for product quality if pickup is delayed beyond a reasonable timeframe after notification.
