The HAGGIS is considered traditionally of Scottish origin. It's even their national dish, as a result of Scots poet Robert Burns' poem "Address to a Haggis" of 1786.

Haggis is traditionally served with "neeps and tatties", boiled and mashed separately, and a glass of Scotch whisky, especially as the main course of a Burns Supper!

Why do we celebrate Robert Burns ?

Burns Supper is annually celebrated in Scotland on or around January 25th.
It commemorates the life of the poet Robert Burns, who was born on January 25, 1759.
The day also celebrates Burns' contribution to Scottish culture.
His best known work is Auld Lang Syne
